Acceleration on Amusement Rides
Approximately 25 years ago the first Acceleration Effects on Passengers were included to the American and European Standards. Since then, many studies and the experience with the existing limits lead to a more detailed Standard. Most of the Acceleration Limits were written so that engineers can understand and design their Amusement Rides, although all limits were derived by biomedical restrictions. The Acceleration Task Group has finished a Whitepaper explaining the state of art and most of the biomedical background information and how the Limits were derived. The Whitepaper tries to explain the biomedical background for Engineers, Owners and Operators.
